Georgia Poised for Quarterback Upgrade Despite Beck's Departure, Says Pollack

College football analyst David Pollack believes the Georgia Bulldogs are set for an upgrade at the quarterback position in the upcoming season, despite losing their starting quarterback, Carson Beck, to the Miami Hurricanes. Beck's performance in 2024 didn't quite reach the heights of his previous season, with a decline in passing yards and completion percentage. However, his touchdown passes increased, and he led the team to an SEC championship and a College Football Playoff berth before suffering a season-ending injury.

Gunner Stockton stepped in for Beck during the SEC Championship Game and the subsequent playoff loss. Pollack expressed optimism for Stockton on his podcast, stating that he expects a better year from Stockton compared to Beck's performance last season. Pollack argued that Georgia's offensive struggles in 2024 weren't solely Beck's fault but a collective issue involving players and coaches, and he is confident that the team's receiving corps will be significantly improved for the upcoming season.

Pollack emphasizes that highly-recruited quarterbacks aren't always the key to success at Georgia. He believes Stockton possesses the potential to excel as the starting quarterback in 2025, potentially leading the Bulldogs back to the top of college football. With an improved supporting cast, Pollack is confident that Stockton can surpass expectations and make a significant impact on the team's performance.
