Raducanu Prioritizes Petchey Partnership, Pauses Search for Permanent Coach

Emma Raducanu, the British tennis star, has decided to put a hold on her search for a new full-time coach, opting to continue with her current arrangement with Mark Petchey. Raducanu expressed satisfaction with the "informal" coaching setup, emphasizing the positive impact Petchey has had on her game since joining her team on a part-time basis at the Miami Open last month.

Petchey, a respected figure in British tennis and former coach of Andy Murray, was present in Raducanu's coaching box during her impressive run to the quarter-finals in Miami, marking her best performance of the season. While Raducanu initially hoped to formalize their partnership, Petchey's existing commitments, particularly his television broadcasting work, posed a significant challenge.

Despite the constraints, Raducanu confirmed that Petchey will continue to support her during the Madrid Open, fitting her into his schedule as much as possible. This flexible arrangement allows Raducanu to maintain a familiar and trusted presence in her coaching team, contributing to a comfortable and productive training environment as she navigates the challenges of the WTA tour.
